Birth Doula Support
What is a doula?
A doula is a trained professional that supports mothers in pregnancy and labor physically, emotionally, and educationally.
How is a doula different than having my partners support?
My job is NEVER to replace a partner but rather to work with them to support you. Your partner knows you and I know birth. By working together we can ensure that you are loved and supported during this experience. Having a doula in addition to having your partner present enhances your birth by having extra hands for physical support, extra words of encouragement, and extra support as an ally and advocate by providing evidence based information to ensure that your birth desires are met to the best of our ability.
What do I bring to a birth?
Strong hands, open heart, and a sharp mind.
These are my essentials when attending a birth. I bring a variety of comfort measures including peanut balls, tens unit, and massage tools .
As well as things like a speaker to play your desired playlist, and lights to enhance your birthing space.
What do my services include?
We will have 3 prenatal appointments to discuss topics such as birth desires, birth anatomy, comfort measures, and many other topics. These meetings are essential to get to know each other and ensure that you feel well prepared to give birth.
I offer text/phone support throughout your pregnancy to answer any of those spontaneous pregnancy and birth questions you may have. We have our final meeting around 35 weeks. I go on call at 38 weeks and I remain on call until your sweet babe is ready to make their entrance! I will stay with you for the duration of the labor and visit you postpartum within the week. You will also receive my pregnancy &postpartum guide and journal.
What is the cost?
The cost of services as listed above is $1850.
If cost feels like a barrier, please reach out. We will discuss more flexible options.
